On the evening of March 22, four Tajik citizens attacked the individuals gathered for a music concert at the Crocus city Hall, and caused the loss of numerous lives. Shortly thereafter, the ISIS-affiliated news agency claimed responsibility for the attack.
Daesh-e-Khawarijs express satisfaction that an assault has been carried out on a venue associated with prostitution. However, it is remarkable that one of the attackers had previously served a six-year prison sentence for engaging in acts related to prostitution.
Faridun Shamsiddin:
The Crocus City Hall concert was attacked by four individuals of Tajik descent, one of whom is identified as Faridun Shamsiddin. Faridun, a resident of Loyob village in Hisar city, Tajikistan, lacks religious education. He is married and has an eight-month-old child.
A relative of Faridun, his uncle’s wife, informed Tajik media that Shamsiddin, 25, worked at a local bakery in Hisar city before moving to Russia and “could not have killed a sparrow. He was a coward.”
According to reports from the Tajik branch of Azadi Radio as relayed by villagers and relatives of Faridun, he was in seventh grade at a local school in 2014 when he was detained for sexually harassing a six-year-old child. Consequently, he served a six-year prison sentence.
Upon completion of his incarceration in 2020, he married in 2022.
In regards to Shamsiddin’s religious beliefs, the Loyob resident said he wasn’t a practicing Muslim: “He never prayed or fasted, and he drank alcohol.”
The outcome:
ISIS-Khawarij elevate their fighters to a position of sanctity and portray themselves as the epitome of piety, despite the fact that many among them, like Faridun, have a history rife with transgressions and straying from religious principles.
Due to the lack of religious knowledge, people with such a dark background soon fall into the trap of Daesh. The same individual who was considered an unbeliever just a few years prior now views themselves as the only true Muslim.
